Becoming a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ is not instantaneous.   Growth comes from the transformation of the mind.   We must be taught the Word of God.   Attending a worship service is just a start.   If you only attend worship, you will learn what God’s intentions are for your life, but you will lack the knowledge and power to live in that truth.   The real growth begins when we learn the purpose of God as revealed in both the Old and the New Testaments.   This takes time and it takes a community. 
 
The Gathering has three primary growth tools.
 

 Alpha Course   Alpha is a ten-week introduction to the Christian faith.   This is where we all need to begin.

 Bible 101   This is an introduction to the Bible, but it is serious study.   Most people spend three to four hours a week in preparation for class.   It is great for the seasoned Bible student or the person who knows nothing about the Bible.   Most people who have read the Bible devotionally have not studied the contents in a systematic way that reveals God’s complete plan of salvation.   It is offered in four eight-week units: Beginnings (Old Testament 1); Endings (Old Testament 2); New Testament Gospel; and New Testament Church.

 Bible 201   This is only for those who have completed Bible 101 or have done similar studies in other churches.   It is eight  weeks that covers the major theological principles of the Bible in a thematic manner.
